چکیده
Results 36 patients were included. Among them, 13 (36 %) had grade 3 PGD. EVLWi was significantly higher in the grade 3 PGD group at ICU admission, day one and at day 2. A cut-off value of 14 ml/kg of EVLWi at admission predicts the progression to grade 3 PGD with a sensitivity of 82% and a specificity of 77% and was significantly associated with the need for rescue therapy for severe hypoxemia. Less than a half of patients had all their LUS windows available. LUS scores did not discriminate patients with grade 3 PGD from the others.

Translational Insights on Lung Transplantation: Learning from Immunology
The introduction of ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) in the practice of lung transplantation has allowed the reconditioning of the marginal grafts and their conversion into transplantable grafts. In addition, EVLP can provide a platform for the application of various preventive measures to decrease the incidence of post-transplant complications. While the Toronto team targets the attenuation of th...

BACKGROUND There is significant heterogeneity within the primary graft dysfunction (PGD) syndrome. We aimed to identify distinct grade 3 PGD phenotypes based on severity of lung dysfunction and patterns of resolution. METHODS Subjects from the Lung Transplant Outcomes Group (LTOG) cohort study with grade 3 PGD within 72 h after transplantation were included. Latent class analysis (LCA) was us...
متن کاملLong Term Impact of Primary Graft Dysfunction after Lung Transplantation
According to the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) Registry, graft failure accounted for 24.7% of deaths within 30 days of transplantation among adult lung recipients between 1992 and 2012 [1]. Although important details distinguishing different causes of early graft failure may be missing from the Registry data, it is likely that primary graft dysfunction (PGD) i...

Iran is recognized as an endemic area for lung hydatidosis. Surgical removal of some hydatid cysts may have setious morbid consequences. To determine the characteristics of these special cysts, a retrospective survey was carried out on patients admitted to Modarres Hospital in Tehran between 1989 and 1998. We have found that ruptured, bilateral, lung located, and giant cysts (> ] 0 cm) caus...
متن کاملSingle lung transplantation has equivalent long term outcomes to bilateral lung transplantation in patients with pulmonary hypertension associated with advanced lung disease
Whether bilateral lung transplantation (BLT) rather than single lung transplantation (SLT) should be preferentially performed for patients with World Health Association (WHO) Group 3 pulmonary hypertension (PH) associated with advanced lung disease has been controversial. We retrospectively examined the outcomes of 474 consecutive patients who underwent BLT or SLT at our center between 1999 and...
